Oberon Arc Flash Escape Strap Vest

The Oberon Arc Flash Escape Strap Vest combines high-level arc-flash protection with an integrated emergency rescue strap, providing electrical workers with an additional safety option when working on or near electrical equipment where an arc-flash or electrical contact hazard has been identified.

Rated at 40 cal/cm² ATPV, the vest provides Arc Flash PPE Category 4 protection and incorporates a 20 ft (6.1 m) continuous-loop Kevlar® Escape Strap.

The integrated escape strap is designed to assist a trained responder with emergency contact release or non-vertical extraction following an electrical incident, providing an additional rescue capability without requiring a separate rescue strap to be immediately available.

Integrated Kevlar® Escape Strap

A key feature of the Oberon Escape Strap Vest is the integrated 20 ft (6.1 m) Kevlar® Escape Strap.

The strap is incorporated into the vest and stored in a dedicated rear pocket when not required. In an emergency, it can be deployed by a trained responder as part of an established electrical rescue procedure.

The Escape Strap is intended to provide a means of assisting with:

• Emergency contact release
• Moving an affected worker away from an electrical hazard
• Non-vertical emergency extraction
• Emergency response procedures where conventional rescue equipment may not be immediately accessible

The Escape Strap is an emergency rescue aid and is not a substitute for appropriate electrical isolation, safe working procedures or purpose-designed rescue equipment where required.
